Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt prepared to express about his personal sorrow.
"Enough time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he could not remember "any day without laughter".
"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

In a distinct tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Recently, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.
A legal directive put a restriction on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the probe.
The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
